Arts Project Australia Permanent Collection Project

In preparation for the celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2024, Arts Project Australia has engaged Agency Untitled to undertake an extensive collection and policy assessment, with the desire to create a new strategic vision for its collection and future acquisition program.

Encompassing work made by studio artists from the organisation’s inception to today, the collection includes work in all media, with extensive holdings of works on paper. As the first full-time art studio in Australia for artists with an intellectual disability, the Arts Project Australia Permanent Collection provides a fascinating insight into the history of this seminal creative social enterprise and the work and passions of the artists associated with it.

THE ARTS PROJECT AUSTRALIA MANIFESTO

WE MARCH TO THE BEAT OF OUR OWN DRUM AND MAP OUR OWN FUTURE

Fuelled by an unwavering belief in our artists, we’re buoyed by the creativity and authenticity that exists in our space and heartened by those who delight in sharing it. We believe that art is serious, but making it can be fun. The individual creativity triumphs over conformity and divergent voices make life much more interesting. That art is about revealing ourselves and creating meaningful connections – between artists, staff artists and art lovers. Our experience will always be shared, our knowledge passed on and our studio, bound by creativity, integrity and generosity in equal measure.

We believe in making a mark that matters. We believe in art as it should be.

Original.
Unapologetic.
True.
And joyful in the making.
